It's a 11/2-hour trip from JR Ueno Station to JR Katsuta Station by the Fresh Hitachi limited express train. From the Katsuta Station to Ibaraki National College of Technology, which is called Ibaraki Kosen in Japanese, a taxi is your best bet. It's about a 5-minute ride from JR Katsuta Station.

Bus service is also available. Take a bus bound for "Chuo Kenshuujo", "Higashi Nakane-Hongodai Danchi" or "Kaihin-Koen" at the East Exit of the station, and get off at "Ibaraki Kosen Mae" Bus Stop(about 10 minutes).

Get on the Joban Expressway from Tokyo that joins the Kitakanto-Jidoshado Expressway at Tomobe Junction. Get off at Hitachinaka Exit and turn left and head for the JR Katsuta Station. You will find Ibaraki National College of Technology located near the Nakane-Kamino Intersection. It's a 10-minute drive from the Hitachinaka interchange to Ibaraki National College of Technology.
