| 1989 | Agreement on academic exchanges was signed between Ibaraki National College of Technology and INSA de Rouen, France. |
| 1991 | One of the two sections of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was reorganized into the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering. |
| 1993 | The building housing the Department of Electronics and Control Engineering was constructed. |
| 1996 | Overseas study program started. The Department of Industrial Chemistry was reorganized into the Department of Chemistry and Material Engineering. |
| 2001 | Three Advanced Courses were established: Mechanical and Electronic-Control Engineering, Computer, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Chemistry and Material Engineering. |
| 2004 | The Education program of Production System Engineering was authorized by the Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education. |
| 2005 | The Certification of Education program was issued by the accreditation standards of the National Institutions for Academic Degrees and Universuty Evaluation (NIAD-UE). |
| 2006 | Agreement on academic exchanges with University Technology of Aguascalientes in Mexco and Waiariki Institute of Technology in New Zealand. |
